Why does everybody complain about Jose's dancing? OMG, he's not supposed to dance, OMG he's doing those handshakes, OMG he's having too much fun. When the team is losing its all jose's fault.

There is a difference between dancin' after a big win on the field with your teammates, then in the dugout when the game is going on and showing up the other team. That's what annoys other players and fans. It's that simple. Hit a game-winning HR or hit and dance away. Hi-5, fist pump and salsa all you want after the last out. Before that, show some class. In the past, Reyes was clueless about that. Lately, he's shown some growth there.

Btw, I'm as huge a Mets fan as they come. I like Jose personally and his talent. What I dislike is his approach to the game mentally. He is a terrible fundamental player and has no plate discipline. He also rarely ever steals bases in key spots. If he doesn't use his legs, he's a pedestrian player. His speed is what at times, makes him an elite player. His lack of using that speed and his poor mental approach has stilted his development and in many ways made him an underachiever.

In the end, that is why I think the Mets will deal him rather than investing 60-70 million in a player who as he ages, loses speed and doesn't have the all-around game, dedication or acumen to compensate for that loss.

I know this is a little late but its easier to make this argument now that the Mets are rolling and Jose is a big part, but I figured this goes along with your having fun during the game thing; its great to see the Mets smiling and joking on the field. I know people will say its gonna cause a lapse in concentration, but every since Manuel came onto the scene, the Mets just look like they're having much more fun. Even guys like Beltran who never show any emotion.

I think that Reyes has the right to dance and every player has the right to run their mouths only if they can back it up

Jose reyes should be able to hsve all the fun he wants as long as he isn't disrepectful.

He hasn't been disrespectful and probably never will be.

Other fans are just dissapointed because their team's shortstop like possibly Jeter or H.Ramirez would rather do calculous than be entertaining.

I agree with you. Since when has baseball become so serious that it's not supposed to be fun anymore? 20, 30 and in some cases, 40+ year old guys are getting paid a king's ransom to play a kid's game, and because of hurt feelings Jose is supposed to stop dancing? I love to see him do his handshakes, dances and stuff. It gets me fired up as a Mets fan; and it fires up the Mets fans in the stands. I think the Marlins took issue because they stink! If they didn't like it, why did they wait until the last game of the season to play with a purpose? What about the other 161? Personally, I think they were pissed because John Maine shut them down the day before to the tune of 14 K's. Grow up baseball fans. This is not Jose showing up other teams and their fans. This is a young guy playing with passion, intensity and pure love of the game. As much fun as he has, I'm sure most other teams would give everything they had to get a player of Reyes' caliber to bat leadoff for them.

Get over it, NL East fans. Reyes is dynamic and has fun playing the game. I say have your fun, Reyes. Your career could be here today, gone tomorrow. Go all out on the field and enjoy yourself.

Jose B. Reyes is not only the best shortstop in the league, He has the best team spirit in the league.  I love when the Mets celebrate, we know how to have fun! We play are music as our team fools around and dances in the dugout. It's about fun some players not money.  You look at the Yankees play and it looks like they are dead, like they really don't want to be there.
